About the NBL ladder predictor

The NBL ladder predictor lets you pick the winner of every game left in the 2026-27 season and watch the ladder settle the top two and the Play-In. Games already played are locked with their real scores.

Type a score for any game, or let the model play a night or the whole season. Its scores come from the 2025-26 regular season, an average game of 182 points with a small home edge, and each club's strength from last season's point differential.

How to use the NBL ladder predictor

  • Pick a month, then a game night, and enter scores for the games you want to decide.
  • Simulate night fills in the night on screen; Simulate season plays everything left.
  • The ladder marks the top two for the semi-finals and third to sixth for the Play-In; Clear goes back to the real results.

NBL ladder predictor FAQ

Does the NBL predictor play the Play-In and finals?

No. It settles the 33-game regular season, which decides who goes straight to the semi-finals and who plays the Play-In. The finals series is not simulated.

Where does the predictor get team strength from?

From the 2025-26 NBL ladder: each club's point differential per game, scaled so that the gap between two clubs becomes an expected margin. All ten clubs played that season, so every team has a rating.

Is there home advantage in the NBL?

Very little. In the 2025-26 regular season home teams won 50.3% of games and outscored visitors by under a point on average, so the model gives the home side almost no edge.
