About the tennis scores

Follow tennis scores from the ATP and WTA tournaments in play, laid out draw by draw with the set-by-set result of every match. Men's singles, women's singles and both doubles events each have a page of their own, where the rounds run in order, winners are marked and seeds sit beside the players' names.

Match length depends on the event. At the four Grand Slams, men's singles is played over best of five sets and women's singles over best of three, while at most other tournaments both are best of three.

How to use the tennis scores

  • Pick the tournament, then one of its draws: men's or women's singles, or men's or women's doubles.
  • Scroll through the rounds in order to follow each match and its score set by set.
  • The winner of each match is shown in bold, and the small number beside a name is that player's seed.
  • Under Recently finished, open the draws of tournaments that ended in the past two weeks.

Tennis scores FAQ

What does the number next to a player's name mean?

It is the player's seed. Seeds go to the highest-ranked players in the field and are spread through the bracket so they avoid each other early; at the Grand Slams the top two are placed in opposite halves and can meet only in the final.

How many players are in a Grand Slam draw?

Each Grand Slam singles draw has 128 players, 32 of them seeded, and takes seven rounds to reach a champion. At the Australian Open the field is 104 direct entrants on ranking, 16 qualifiers who each won three qualifying matches and eight wild cards chosen by the organizers.

What happens at 6-6 in the final set at a Grand Slam?

A 10-point tiebreak decides it. Since March 2022, all four majors have settled a deciding set that reaches six games all with a tiebreak won by the first player or team to reach 10 points with a two-point margin, in singles, doubles and qualifying.
