NRL FAQ

How many teams make the NRL finals?

Eight. The top four play qualifying finals with a second chance if they lose, fifth to eighth play elimination finals where the loser is out, and the series runs over four weeks through the semi-finals and preliminary finals to the Grand Final.

When do the Perth Bears join the NRL?

In the 2027 season, as the competition's 18th club. With an even number of clubs, the competition no longer needs a team to sit out every round, as one did each week in 2026.

When is the 2027 NRL draw released?

It had not been released on October 4, 2026. The 2026 draw came out on November 14, 2025, and the NRL draw page on this site switches to 2027 on its own as soon as the new season is published.
