Vertize Sports: College Basketball, the Top 25 schedule and the polls.

College basketball has the same problem as college football and a worse version of it. Far too many teams, far too few games between them, and a ranking that is voted rather than calculated. The section keeps to what can be shown honestly.

The schedule

Games night by night, with tip-off times in US Eastern and the arena each one is played at. Ranked teams carry their number beside their name, which is the quickest way to find the games worth watching in a night with forty of them.

The rankings

The AP Top 25 as the poll moves. In a sport where the regular season is really a seeding exercise for March, this is the number that matters most of the year.

What is not here yet

No simulator, for the same reason as college football: the regular season does not resolve into a table you can play forward. The bracket in March does, and that is the piece worth building. It is not built yet, and this page will say so until it is.

Free, no account. The WNBA and NBA sections carry the same treatment for the professional game.
