Baseball punishes any site that treats it like the other sports. Thirty teams playing 162 games each is an order of magnitude more than a soccer league, and a fixture list built for 380 matches falls apart at 2,430.
The schedule
The full regular season, organised month by month and then night by night, with start times in US Eastern and the ballpark each game is played at. You can jump to any month rather than scrolling through the summer.
Because the season is so long, the page also tells you where you are in it: how many games have been played, how many are left and how much of the year is gone. On a normal August evening that is the fastest way to see how much baseball is still to come.
The simulator
Baseball standings are win-loss records inside divisions, with wild cards on top, so the simulator is built on records rather than on points.
You enter a score for any game still to be played and the American and National League tables rearrange as you go, with the playoff places marked, which in most seasons is the part worth arguing about. Games already played are locked, so what you are steering is the stretch run from wherever the season stands today.
It is a blunt instrument on purpose. A 162-game season is not decided by any single night, and being able to run a whole month of a rotation in a couple of minutes tells you more about a division than agonising over one series would.
