About the League One table
This League One table tracks the 2026-27 standings as results come in, with a complete record for each club and a guide to its last five results. Clubs in the top two, the third-to-sixth playoff band and the bottom four each get their own marker.
Leicester City are part of this season's 24-club field after back-to-back relegations, only the second third-tier campaign in their 142-year history. Notts County are back in League One for the first time since 2014-15, Bromley are playing at this level for the first time, and the final order is fixed after the last round on May 8, 2027.

Who were League One's champions in 2025-26?
Lincoln City were the 2025-26 champions with 103 points, 12 more than runners-up Cardiff City, and are back in the second tier for the first time since 1961. Bolton Wanderers, fifth in the table, took the third promotion place by beating Stockport County 4-1 in the playoff final at Wembley.
What happens to the bottom clubs in League One?
The bottom four are relegated to League Two, swapping places with that division's top three and its playoff winner. In 2025-26 Exeter City, Port Vale, Rotherham United and Northampton Town went down, while Leyton Orient survived in 20th with 52 points.
How are League One clubs level on points separated?
Goal difference is the first tiebreaker; if that is equal too, the club that has scored more goals ranks higher. If clubs are still tied, EFL regulations turn to their head-to-head league record, meaning points, goal difference and goals scored in those games, followed by total wins and away goals.
