About the Ligue 2 table
Track the Ligue 2 table for 2026-27, where each row sets out a club's points, results, goals and goal difference next to a five-game form guide. Markers pick out first and second, which bring automatic promotion, the playoff places from third to fifth, and the two spots that mean relegation to Ligue 3.
The standings become final with the 34th round on Saturday, May 22, 2027. Troyes won last season's title, their third in Ligue 2, and went up with Le Mans, while Bastia and Amiens were relegated and Laval stayed up by winning a playoff against Rouen.

How does promotion from Ligue 2 work?
The champions and runners-up go up automatically. Fourth plays fifth, the winner faces third, and the club that survives meets Ligue 1's 16th-placed team over two legs for a top-flight place; in 2026 Saint-Étienne won the playoffs but lost that final tie to Nice.
How many teams go down from Ligue 2?
Two directly: whoever finishes 17th or 18th is relegated to Ligue 3. The 16th-placed team gets one more chance in a home-and-away playoff against a Ligue 3 club, played on June 1 and June 6, 2027.
How are ties on points broken in Ligue 2?
France's league body, the LFP, applies the same order as in Ligue 1 since 2025-26: goal difference over the season, then the head-to-head points and goal difference among the clubs concerned, then goals scored, wins, away wins and disciplinary points. Away goals no longer count at any stage.
