About the A-League table
The A-League Men table for 2026-27 ranks the 12 clubs by points and shows who is on course for the finals series, the prize the whole regular season is played for. Markers pick out the first two places, which lead straight to the semi-finals, and places three to six.
Each club plays 26 games from October 16, 2026, and the final standings matter twice over: the top six reach the finals, and the club in first place is named premier, an honor separate from the Grand Final title.
How to use the A-League table
- Clubs are ordered by points; the columns before that total show games played, the win-draw-loss record and goals.
- The form column shows each club's last five games, oldest to latest.
- Two markers split the top six: first and second go straight to the semi-finals, third to sixth enter the elimination finals.
- Above the table, a progress box tracks games played and left and the date of the next kickoff.
- Project the final order in the A-League simulator.
A-League table FAQ
What is the difference between premiers and champions in the A-League?
The premiers are the club that finishes top of the regular-season table; the champions are the club that wins the Grand Final. They are separate honors and can go to different clubs, which is why each A-League season crowns two winners.
How many clubs reach the A-League finals series?
Six. The top two go straight into the semi-finals, while third to sixth play elimination finals for the other two semi-final places. In the 2026 series the semi-finals were played over two legs and the Grand Final was a single match.
Is there relegation in the A-League?
No. The A-League has no promotion or relegation, so no club goes down and none comes up from a lower division. The table therefore has no drop zone, and the line that matters is the one below sixth place, the last spot in the finals series.
Who were last season's A-League champions and premiers?
Auckland FC won the 2026 Grand Final 1-0 against Sydney FC on May 23 at Go Media Stadium, the first Grand Final played in New Zealand. Newcastle Jets were the 2025-26 premiers after finishing top of the regular-season table.
