About the Serie B simulator
The Serie B simulator turns the rest of Italy's 2026-27 second division into a what-if: enter results for games still to come and the table responds at once, or let the model fill a single matchday or the entire season. It is a quick way to test the race for the two automatic promotion places.
Scores from games already played are part of every run and cannot be touched. In the projected table, promotion covers the top two, the playoff band runs from third to eighth and relegation takes 18th to 20th, while 16th and 17th, the playout places, carry no marker.
How to use the Serie B simulator
- Scores go in match by match, and the table moves only when both the home and away boxes hold a number.
- For a full projection press Simulate season, which also replaces your own scores; for one round press Simulate matchday.
- The numbered matchday row marks rounds whose games all have a score, so you can see what is left to fill.
- Clear drops every projected score at once.
- Compare with the real Serie B table, or switch to the Serie A simulator.
Serie B simulator FAQ
Why do Cremonese start as the simulator's top-rated team?
Because the model rates clubs by goal difference per game in last season's Serie A and Serie B tables, adding a fixed step for the higher division. Cremonese, relegated from Serie A, start first, ahead of Palermo, fourth in Serie B last season, with Hellas Verona and Pisa next.
Where do the four clubs promoted from Serie C start?
With no Serie C tables to draw on, the model starts Vicenza, Arezzo, Benevento and Ascoli one standard deviation below the Serie B average. Only Virtus Entella, which stayed up last season, is rated lower.
Why are 16th and 17th not marked in the projected table?
Because their fate can depend on a playout after the season. In the real competition they meet over two legs unless more than four points separate them, in which case 17th goes straight down; the simulator stops at round 38 and plays neither the playout nor the promotion playoffs.
